Tunnocks Tea Cakes
Soft marshmallow on a biscuit base, covered in milk chocolate (also available with dark chocolate).
Tunnock's Teacake is a sweet companion to enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee.
Developed by Sir Boyd Tunnock in 1956, the treat consists of a small round shortbread biscuit covered with a dome of Italian Baiser, a whipped egg white concoction similar to marshmallows but slightly lighter in texture.
This is then covered with a thin layer of milk or dark chocolate and, for the more popular milk chocolate variety, wrapped in a red and silver foil paper.
