Lyles Black Treacle
Since 1885, Lyle's Golden Syrup has been sold in a tin with an unchanged design. Enjoy the thick syrup with its unmistakable taste with your morning porridge, pan cakes, or even for baking succulent cakes and biscuits.
As the name suggests, Lyles Black Treacle Syrup differs from Golden Syrup in its darker colour. The taste is more tart than Golden Syrup, which makes it the perfect ingredient for gingerbread men and other Christmas bakery treats. It is also well suited for savoury dishes, for example as a glaze for salmon fillets.
As the cans have been produced and manufactured in the traditional way since 1885, it is not possible to prevent the syrup from leaking or overflowing, which is why there may be some deposits on the lid. However, this does not affect the quality of the product.
