Dr.Oetker Bicarbonate of Soda
In 1891, Dr. August Oetker took over a pharmacy in Bielefeld and developed a baking powder that became a bestseller in 1893. Today Dr. Oetker is an international Company.
In British cuisine, unlike in Germany, a baking powder is used that has a double effect. Not all baking powders are the same.
The Bicarbonate of Soda from Dr. Oetker is ideal for making muffins, crumpets, scones and doughnuts. The versatile powder can also be used as a household cleaner. Simply mix one tablespoon of Bicarbonate of Soda with one tablespoon of water and use the homemade cleaning solution for teapots, for example, or even coffee machines.
